Our heritage, your memory

Our heritage, your memory

You can divide our heritage among three big families:

- the first heritage are our forests, our landscapes, our rivers and lakes; and our granite stones, known in many parts of France and used by several sculptors, the best known are Masgot and Michaud.

- the second heritage concerns the arts : tapestry in Aubusson (where Fadat is the most recent creator ), paintings in Crozant and writers in many places.

- the third heritage is architectural: found in our big castles, such as the one of Villemonteix, of Boussac and of Banizette; and also found in our churches such as Bénévent l' Abbaye, Toulx Sainte Croix, Chambon, Le Moutier d'Ahun, Ahun sous Parat, Masgot and many more; and also to be found in small chapels along the roads and built into the façade of old houses.

There is so much to be discovered in the Creuse! Every day you can discover something new! and you will find it hard to leave this part of France.
